Snowflakes catches BBC’s eye

Snowflakes has attracted the attention of the BBC’s regional news programme South Today. We were filmed for the programme’s feature on National Small Business Week, which was aired on the lunchtime and evening programme.

Interviewed by South Today’s Jo Kent, husband and wife team Simon and Kirstie Snow explained how they have managed to exceed their small business’s expectations in their first quarter despite giving up their jobs and setting up the company in the middle of the turbulent economic climate.

Simon Snow says “Despite opening our shop and launching our website amid various bad-news stories about the economy, we are fully committed to our business and our clients, and so far our customers in Dorset have been overwhelmingly supportive of us to the extent that we are hoping to expand the business in the near future.”

Kirstie Snow went on to say “We very much welcomed the idea of the BBC filming in our showroom as it is not only good publicity for Snowflakes, but it might help to restore a bit of confidence to the wider community that the future is not all doom and gloom for the retail industry.”
